Good evening all! i bought an 80's Raleigh Pursuit road bike for £50 to do Leicester to London for charity as my dawes diploma didn't have enough gears! since buying the raleigh i've become addicted to riding and really want (and need!) an upgrade.

here's the problem: I really love the look and reviews of the charge juicer mid. i like the classic, vintage look and the reviews of this bike seem great (also wiggle have it for £599 down from a grand at mo) i've phoned all stockists in the midlands and no one stocks it, only Evans has said they could get one at a 25% non refundable deposit but i know i wont buy it from them as its cheaper at wiggle measuring my raleigh it is almost exactly the same size frame as the charge juicer. i've been told by wiggle that as its a sale bike i cant return it if i ride it .at the moment if i really like the bike and think it will fit i have no choice but to buy and hope for best!

i'm 6'4" and looking at the large (58) frame

what are peoples experience or advice on buying without trying?

Do the distance selling regs not apply to bikes at Wiggle? Maybe a stupid question!

Evans do price match on bikes, just provide them with proof of a cheaper selling price for the identical model.

With regards to the not trying beforehand, I personally would definately try before. Even 25% is better than 100% and having a bike that is of no use

Distance selling regs say that you can test something (and that means you can destroy the packaging too!) when you buy goods on line.

You have only 7 working days to reject it, though but it applies whatever the retailer may put on their website.
