Cannondale Trail 5 chainring

Recently purchased a Cannondale Trail 5. Being rather strong in the leg i am find it to easy to peddle with the factory fitted 30T Chainring is its highest gear. Is it an easy job to up the chainring to 32T or more ? any advice would be appreciated.

Easy as long as you get a new ring compatible with your crankset

The maximum size of the the chainring will be determined by clearance from the chainstay, how much gap is there between the current chainring and the chainstay?

I would say approx 15mm from the edge of the tooth to where the stay kicks out.
