I'd like to change the handlebars on my Cannondale Bad Boy 2 Headshok 2013 Hybrid Bike http://www.wheelies.co.uk/p56409/Cannondale-Bad-Boy-2-Headshok-2013-Hybrid-Bike.aspx. At the moment the handlebars and stem are one piece and I'm not keen on it really. I spoke to a mechanic at one of the Evans Cycles stores and he said it cannot be changed which I find hard to believe. So I just wanted to check with the CycleChat community to see if there is a solution...

My current setup is:
Handlebars: Cannondale Si Urban OPI Stem/Handlebar with Si Light, 7 degree
Stem: Cannondale Si Urban OPI Stem/Handlebar with Light, 7 degree
Headset: Tange Custom 1.5 inch

I would like a setup like this (or any suggestions on something similar):
Handlebars: Easton EA70 Riser Bar http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/easton-ea70-riser-bar/rp-prod114331
Stem: Hope DH Stem http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/hope-dh-stem/rp-prod49250

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Karl

Indeed.

According to the spec in the bike's link this is the stem/bar, clearly with two stem bolts for the 1.5" fork steerer, no different to 99.9% of ahead stems around except that most are 1 1/8" rather than 1.5".

So if I were you I would hunt around for suitable 1.5" stems (such as but not limit to this), with a 31.8mm clamp for OS bars if those EA70 OS bars are what you fancy. The only thing you need to be careful of is to ensure the available steerer for clamping is not too short for the stem's stack height for whatever spacer you want to have in place.
