Has anyone got one of these/know much about it?

I am considering buying one for general training rides of 25 miles or so on local hilly back roads that are in generally poor condition.

I want something that is tough, fast and good up hills.

(It is to complement my road bike, not to replace it.)

Very grateful for your views.

I had a play with one at Evans. Looks nice, but weighed a ton!

i had a go on an alfine one a chevin cycles, its a v. nice bike and i nearly bought one but just couldn't justify the money. i thought it was reasonably light. The look of the lefty fork takes some getting used to, would it limit your choice of upgrading/replacing front wheel? But all in all v. nice bike and cool as f$ck.

A reference to weight/gearing and Spire's 25:25 test ie

Capable of going up 25% hills and doing 25mph on the flat (subject to rider fitness of course!).
