Can you recommend a new bar bag please.


My cheap Argos handle bar bag is coming to the end of it's useful life, and I need to replace it. Over the last 10 years or so it has carried many things, and has proven to be one of the most useful bicycle accessories that I have purchased. The ability to carry a 5 litre plastic container of cider is for me a must.

Just bought one on eBay for £19.99. Brilliant! It's called M-WAVE, is black, has a map pocket plus a pocket on the side for a drinks pocket. Do a search.

I like my Altura Fusion and they are going cheap in some places

Plus side they are waterproof so you can always empty your 5litre bottle into it

Downside the fabric may be a bit lightweight for day to day use

After one ride I've had some more thoughts on the M-Wave handlebar bag.

1. It sits far too high, about 5" above the handlebars.

2. It flops around from side to side effecting the bike's steering.

Today I dismantled the plastic bracket, and altered it's position which lowered the handlebar bag about 3".

I then removed the plastic brackets from the rear of the handlebar bag, drilled new mounting holes and raised them to the level of the zip. The bag is about 5" lower than recommended and I shall find out tomorrow if it has improved the steering, etc.
