On my commute, I pass this daily, but it's suddenly burst into bloom in mid August!

Looks to be very much still growing, perhaps 10m tall and trunk maybe 25cm diameter.

There are apps that identify plants, I used one when I forgot which hedge I had, when planting another one, actually worked.....can't remember the name of the app,deleted it aferwards

Pretty sure it's Eucryphia. My parents have got one that's only just come into flower this year. Quite tall and narrow, matches Eucryphia too.
