I have had this bike/frame for a number of years just gathering dust. I was given it by someone I did some work for. In truth it's a bit small for me but I spent a couple of hours tidying it up on Sunday and have got it working. It came to me set up as a fixed wheel and I swapped out the old wheels that it came with for some from my usual fixed bike, slapped on a working brake caliper and gave it a short spin out yesterday. Not bad but a bit twitchy.
Despite the lettering I'm pretty sure it isn't Colnago but I wondered if anyone has any idea who the maker was.

The fork crown would seem to suggest it is a Colnago.

Yes I know what you mean. But close up it looks sort of half arsed, not really what you would expect of a quality manufacturer. I never imagined it was a Colnago. I'm just curious about it.

The cutout lugs would suggest a late-1970s build.

Did Colnago ever use fastback stays, though?

The fastback stays and chrome suggest an English build to me - perhaps Bob Jackson/JRJ or some small builder? (The fork crown engraving and the all-chrome finish suggest that it is NOT a Raleigh or Worksop/Carlton build.)

Silly question but on photo 3 is that some sort of metal ridge on the downtube causing the bottom bracket to have a bilge at the edge F the lug, or is a reflection?

I'll have a look but l think it's a reflection of something.
