After starting earlier this year I have recently signed up for London Bikeathon 100 mike route. It includes box hill and other climbs. I went out Friday and did 77 followed by another 50 on Sunday and still feel pretty fresh.

I've trained a lot over the summer and managed a few sportives pretty easily, however this one does throw me off.

I have to rush to be there due to transport and the fact I've not cracked 100 does worry me.

I've got sponsorship on the line and family watching do really don't want to disappoint. I'm hoping on the day that mind over matter kicks in but does anyone have any advice to calm me down on the run up to it?

You'll be fine. take it easy this week - nothing too intense, just gentle rides - and relax

If you can do 77 you'll do the 100. That was about as far as I'd been before tackling my first century ride.

I'd just suggest that on the day you pace yourself so that it feels like you've always got something in reserve. That'll get you through the extra few miles.

Good luck with the ride. Have fun.

Boxhill or bust... 'I ain't happy till I've reached a ton'...

Music on an ipod will get you through the last bit I'd bet!

I'm going to suggest not wearing headphones on a mass participation ride.

And the last bit is unbelievably flat, so you'll get through that fine.

Experience shines out from you, I'm a novice rider, and when it comes to running have always opted for music but then I ran it alone and guess it's different.
