Hi all,

I'm gonna be using my new Bike (Specialized Sirrus Elite) in Denmark to commute short distances, on (relatively) clean, urban bike lanes. The problem is, it rains a hell of a lot there.
My mate's given me a spare, rear SKS mudguard with stays (http://www.evanscycles.com/products/...black-ec012084) and flap, but I think it looks a bit "old fashioned on my shiny modern bike.
Are mudguards with stays more effective than clip-on ones?
Can I buy a single front mudguard so that I'll then have the set?

Also, these look pretty cool but are they effective?

Mudguards with stays, tended to stay in place better.

They generally come in pairs, unless you can find one second hand...

That's what I thought.
How about directly from the manufacturer?
Any other options please.
Thanks

I have a spare new unused SKS commuter mudguard in black with stainless steel stays. I bought a pair but only wanted the rear. It is 60mm width for MTB so might not fit your Sirrus Elite frame and also probably not if you are running 700c wheels. I'm not sure if it was one size fits all wheel diameters as it is flexible to a certain extent. PM me if you do want it though.

Alternatively I think Halfords do single mudguards, but not sure. I know I bought Topeak Defender mudguards, front and rear, separately from them.

HTH.

Ask at your LBS. Sometimes they may have some odd ones out the back that yjey can sell to you cheaply.
