Just read the post re the 800.
I have the 200 and was planning to use it when walking but hadn't thought about the speed. Can anyone tell me how to turn the speed/pause off ?

Ah- When all else fails read the instructions..........
I thank you.
So-if I select 'auto pause-off' I can then walk at any speed (or stop) and it will continue to plot the walk ?

or in internet acronyms 'RTFM'*
*read the effing manual*

Yes with autostop off it should carry on recording

Be aware that with only a "breadcrumb" trail, walking in area where there are no landmarks is difficult (takes me back to the original Etrex)

Also there is the accuracy issue. With an accuracy of 60 feet or so then you can review with a map, but it can be a big distance if you are looking for a path or there is a particular spot you are heading for.

Thanks
This is purely for review and help to measure the coastal path.

That is god news. I tend to use the tracks for tagging photos and reviewing more than navigation until I bough the SatMap and the Edge 800 which allow me to navigate using OS on screen.

However I am still using a map and compass in case I lose signal, batteries run out etc.
