We are moving back to Norwich soon and could do with some recommendations.

Norwich has changed bit over the last 20 years. My Dad's bike shop closing down being one of the changes.
I have looked on google and there seem to be a bunch of shops listed but some first hand knowledge from the forum folks would be better.

Thanks in advance.

Pedal Revoultion on Bethel Street are always helpful (although I've only ever bought gear from them, not a full bike).

Borwell Cycles on Spencer Street also have a good reputation.

What was your Dad's shop called just out of interest?

Thanks. I used to live on Connaught Road  It seems odd to be going home to live, after all these years away.

My Dad's shop was Thorpe Electrical & Cycle Co. It was on Plumstead Road East, next to the Hardware shop, near the County Arts Club.

He just closed the business in about 89, 90 and retired. Even after I moved out, I still went there for stuff (it wasn't free, even though he was my Dad), I could always get what I needed in the Aladdin's Cave of bits in the back of the shop. He mostly sold Raleigh and Puch bikes. He had that shop from the early 60s. He used to get some amazing bikes in to fix, even though he didn't stock high end bikes.

Blimey! I remember going in that shop in the late 70's early 80's. Didn't they also sell fishing tackle and model kits too?

Welcome back to Narrrrch, you could also try Velo Cycles on Sprowston Road or Molly's Cycles on the Heartsease.:hello:

Don't remember that one from when I was younger back (used to live the other side of the city) but I now live about 5 mins down the road!!
