campagnolo centrau cassett

Hi,ive got a campagnolo centrau cassett but i dont know, if it is because i dont have any paperwork with the cassett ,it says campagnolo on the cassett but nothing else its a 12 25 is there supposed to be anything on the body can anybody help

There's usually only the speed (9sp or 10 spd etc ) and the No. of teeth on the largest and smallest cogs - so I don't think you can tell precisely.

The weight if it is around 250g would indicate it is around the Centaur mark -but could also be Veloce.

Yes- the spacing is the same within the speed band so a 10spd veloce will fit the 10spd centaur

You can use any level of Campagnolo cassette with compatible freehub and derailleurs.

I'm pretty sure that most Centaur cassettes have the biggest 2 sprockets rivetted together - the exception for 10 speed was 2009 I think.

I have just checked a 10 speed Veloce cassette (2007, 11-25), every cog is separate and has 'Campagnolo' on it and the number of teeth, also a triangle location mark, but nowhere does it actually say 'Veloce'.

The Chorus cassettes have the biggest 3 sprockets bolted together so that would narrow it down a bit.

All Campag 10 speed cassettes are interchangeable. None are marked with the range name. All Veloce and below cassettes have separate sprockets. Above this the larger sprockets are grouped on a carrier. Centaur has changed in this respect over the years. Ther was a period around 2009 when they were like Veloce cassettes. As you go up the range the finish gets better (shinier), they get lighter and you get titanium rather than steel sprockets. If you really want to know you can trawl through all the Campag catalogues year by year (www.campagnolo.com) but they all work the same.
