Campag to Phase out groupset hubs

Was round at my wheelbuilder mate yesterday who said he'd heard a rumour that Campag are phasing out the production of all groupset hubs (except Record).

Anyone know if its true ?

Hasn't it already happened? It has been very hard to source anything but Record for at least a year now.

Yes I tried very hard to find a pair of hubs that were not Record, I found the odd front hub here and there but no rears. Finally bit the bullet and ordered Record, albeit at a terrific price.

TBH I haven't bought any Campag hubs for a while. Better keep the ones I have then............

Bad news for tourists and audax riders (who mostly prefer trad wheels)............

You used to be able to buy the hub for each groupset (TBH groupsets came with hubs) then go and get custom wheels - e.g. Record, Chorus, 105, Ultegra etc. Those were the days when you had handbuilt wheels.

So many folk go for factory (usually weight weenies) the range of hubs has been dropping.

TBH I'd get Record handbuilts if I had Campag...... got DA handbuilts on the best Bike (DA equipped)
