I'm booked in for the 90 miler but haven't cycled more than 45miles in a day since October last year
Planning a 70 for this Sunday with about 1300m of climbing though.

I'll be doing it, although unsure as to whether it'll be the 60/90 as it's my friends first sportive and she only started cycling in october so perhaps........

Harrisman, Well I didn't manage 70 but did do 58 miles with 1400m climbing and I was nearly bonking at the end (getting dizzy spells)! I still managed though but have decided to go for the 60 rather than the 90 as I think I'll enjoy trying to get a reasonable time doing a 60 instead of struggling around the 90. There's plenty of other events to do 90+ miles that I can progressively build up to and still manage a respectable time (for my own satisfaction nothing more). How did you get on on the Cairn

The 60 and the 90 follow the same route for the first 45-50 miles (the route splits in Aberfoyle after the 2nd time up the Dukes Pass) so it gives a good opportunity to see how the legs are and then decide what route to take from there.

I managed the Cairn although it is hard work. I done 40 mile and done it in 2 hrs 37 mins. Thats a shame you were nearly bonking. Its still good you managed 58 miles. Do you use a triple crank set for your climbs.
