Caliper upgrade?

A few weeks a go, I asked what type of brake blocks I should use with my old weinmann brake calipers. I was recommended Kool stops. However, I would quite like to put new (Decent) calipers on to replace the old plastic ones, So I was wondering, What do you all recommend? I don't need anything special, Just a caliper that will do the job, Is reasonably priced and are easy to fit/set up (Still new to this ) Or, Should I just make do with the weinmanns and put a decent set of blocks on them?

you will need to check what drop you need to start with then see whats available , i have been lucky enough before to buy a couple of pairs of hardly used Shimano calipers in the classified section on here for less than £15 , where people have upgraded .

@accountantpete often has some great deals as well. I got a pair of Tiagra calipers of him for cheap a while back.

As @biggs682 rightly says though, you do need to know the drop you require or you could come a cropper.
