are you adapting post mount calliper to IS frame.fork or vice versa?

Not always.. Tried using a post to IS adaptor from a Deore Hydraulic on a cheaper Tektro cable disc brake and it doesn't fit.

The Deore adaptor can't be tightened down properly as it isn't the correct shape to avoid the Tektro IO caliper body, see image below. It's a front caliper and front IS adaptor, so it's not a case of front/back mismatched components.

Just occasionally Shimano calipers refuse to fit cheaper adapters. The Shimano ones tend to be stepped/shaped, but Clarke's and Superstars' are simply flat. The caliper bolt systems on SLX and Deore get in the way and won't let you fit them. Generally, use SHimano for Shimano, but aftermarket for others.

What are you after, I have a couple of spares, a Shimano front 180 Post to Is and a rear 160 IS post. I also have a couple of machined extenders that obviate the need for an adapter.... they just extend the bolts by 20mm.
