I'm back! Yippeee
theres been loads of threads on avg speed and top speed so heres one on candence
1 i start to bounce at 125,
2 i generally spin out and free wheel between 160 170 (both of these are pushing it)
3 my best ever effort while playing was 17mph in my lowest gear on flat ground and peaked at 182
4 my most comfortable rate is 80-90
whats yours?

My cadence tends to be very up and down, I'll peak high'ish in the region of 120-180rpm (I think bth I don't often have a meter fitted) but I also free wheel a bit so the average is only around 70 ish on a hilly circuit on my old club run on a more flat circuit it'd be in the region of 85-90rpm.

I'm riding a fixed with a 65 inch gear, 44x18, I'm normally flat out on the flat between 18 and 22 mph, about 90 - 110 rpm, I start to bounce around 30mph on a descent, about 150 -160 rpm, I then smooth out and run on to around 35mph, about 180 rpm.

I'm most comfortable at about 90.

When going along nicely I can be anywhere between 95 and 110.

I only have a double chainring (one on the fixie) so in big hills I cadence very low when climbing...

Descending bigguns on the fixie I can reach 35 mph, but I have no idea of the cadence. Maybe 160-ish? I have no cadence counter on that bike.

35mph at 69"? Anyway, I'm too scared at that speed to look down and see if my legs are still visible.

Have a look at the calculator here

You should be able to work out your cadence at various speeds with it, at 35 mph you are probably between 160 and 180 rpm
