Cable stuck in the outer? So it cannot change gear?

Or you cannot get the cable out of the grip shifter? Can you see the end of the cable in the grip shifter?

Need more info!!

Can you provide a pic? I have had this problem before with various makes of twist grip. In some cases (usually with the cheaper sorts) it has proved easier to replace the gripshift entirely.

If the nipple is stuck fast it may be a case of digging it out carefully with a sharp implement, being careful not to damage the housing too much. A spray of GT wouldn't hurt either just to try and free things up a bit.

Poor quality of cable/outer? Rust? Accumulation of gunk between the cable and the housing? Wear and tear since last replaced?

Take your pick....or just get on and replace the cables.
