Hi
I think I can attribute my constant need to re-adjust my road bike gearing to completely knackered cabling.

When I replaced a rear gear cable last month, I found the ends of the cables were damaged and fraying and adjusting the gearing was a nightmare when I pulled the cable tight, it seemed to compress and then release again.

My cable casing is over 5 years old and has all done about 6000 miles at a guess.

I am thinking of replacing everything using the Jaqwire Kit from Wiggle...only £23 squid.

I was going to say you can get Dura-Ace for less than that at CRC then I noticed your link is gear and brake cables. The Jagwire looks ok but I'd have a look over at CRC if you haven't already.

Don't skimp on the outer Gear cables, go for Shimano SP41 they don't compress at all and give excellent shifting, I will only use sp41 now,
Brake outers cables Shimano SLR
