I am close to completing my refitted Raleigh Pioneer, was hoping for a continuous rear brake cable. I don't understand, and I can't find a picture of how a C - clamp works. I have found loads of images of them on their own but without another bit it seems they wouldn't work at all well? Is there another bit, or is there better way? Cable ties are looking favourite atm!

Any advice appreciated...

By way of example; how does this fit on my bike? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=455333147&pf_rd_i=468294

The inner lug at the leg end of the Clip, fit into recesses within the cable guides like this and snap into place

You can plastic versions of the clips referred to above. The metal ones I have used go rusty.

I have used just plastic insulation tape in the past. Works just as well.
