Cabin Fever occurs at this time of year. Pi$$ed off with thje weather the flu,the government?

Recognise it for what it is, we will soon all be full of the joys of spring. Cyclechat is the friendly cycling place.

On long, wet, windy training rides, I just remember how good the early summer mornings will be...

I don't understand why weather stops people getting on their bike? Ok, maybe I'm a bit too keen as I've only had my bike for two months but I love going out in the rain! Snow and ice granted is not the best but it's only a few drops of water

I would rather ride in rain than any risk of ice on the road.I dont mind short rides in the rain but cant get enthusiastic about hours of it. Its mostly a long lingering manflu that has kept me off the bike.

Theres a thread on Health and Training about it, this variety seems to only make you really ill for about a week but seems to take several weeks to completely go.

Hoping a few rides in the hills next week will sort me out

Had my first road bike outing last Saturday.

Managed to brave the multidirectional headwinds and rain without suffering any potholes.

Then on the way back from Burton Fleming to Rudston I saw a sign warning temporary road surface
- East Yorkshire Council parlance for 'too tight to repair roads'

The next mile of road looked like Al Qaeda had practised setting off IEDs !

Only out for an hour and a half but it felt good to be back out.

It's given only slight chance of drizzle this weekend so expect I will be out again.

Whilst out yesterday I noticed that the Almond blossom is in the trees, lambs have been born and our spring has started.

You may think that it's always sunny and warm in Southern Spain, but I can assure you it's not.

Living in the campo (country) as we do the houses are geared for outdoor living, and when you cant 'live' outdoors it really is quite depressing.

The houses are designed for the heat not the cold and ,worst, the damp.

HOWEVER, as someone said earlier it's staying light for 3 mins longer each day. It doesn't get dark until around 7pm now.

Then on the other side if the coin, come July and August, there will be no way you can cycle between Noon and say 6pm it's just soooooooooo hot.

A few local CycleChatters are meeting at Brough on Sunday for a ride out. You'd be very welcome to join us. There's a thread here. My toes froze when I went out earlier today so I'll be piling on some extra socks!

Sorry to disappoint you, TPIS, according to this website, Malaga only gains an extra 1 minute + a bit every day ...
I was referring to my home, Edinburgh. We have much further to go, to come back to decent day lengths, so we are in a bit more of a hurry

Cabin Fever, Cabin Fever...... pah .......I have sold my Secteur, been off any bike since circa Oct 2010 with a bad back piling on the pounds (well not pounds and not exactly piling but I have gained a bit)...... I ordered a bike on C2W scheme and my voucher is now in my hand (only two weeks after ordering it) and now........now ........I have to wait till next Friday until I can pick my nice, shiny new bike up as I played it conservative ish on the pick up date and optimistically plonked for 3 weeks!

There are no fluffy ickle Lambs there is no blue sky and certainly no sun or blossom on the trees the days are certainly getting longer they are stretching for an eternity...... I am the metaphorical equivalent of a large hidden pothole full of cold water and sharp stones.......

I hate my life

For the next seven days anyway......

Thanx for the birthday wishes.

It just feels like it's staying lighter later. Wether it's 1 min or 3 mins, it's still a gain.
