the end bit on th einner tube valve just snapped off, it's the bit you unscrew to inflate and then screw tight after.

It's just the tube that needs replaced though isn't it. £3 from the LBS. Or am I missing the joke:blush:

I've broken the inner pin thing (the bit you push down to release the air) a couple of times, no doubt caused by overtightening of the little screw down bit. It did it once as I was screwing it back on and it came shooting out at the speed of sound, rebounded off the rim and took a nick out the wallpaper on the wall 2ft away. I thank god I wasn't in its path and I get very nervous pumping my tyres up these days.

The tube is a scrapun.

Were you pumping the tube up with a hand-pump? and slipped?

Tip - Get a DEEP flexible coupler from an old type pump. This screws over the Presta and the hand-pump fastens on the flexy end.

Hey presta,,, Presto!
