Dr reckons it's a yeast infection, probably caused by the hot weather this summer. He's given me an anti-fungal shampoo but it doesn't seem to be working.

Any suggestions?

(Don't tell me to stop using my deodorant; I've done that and it also made no difference!)

Yes, I've tried the Canestan cream that I use for athlete's foot but no improvement.

(Originally I wrote "fungal" but I've changed that to "yeast", which is actually what he said.)

I've seen this on the wards, but usually with people whose blood sugars are way high.

Through in some flour and bake a cake...

But seriously, I do get this sometimes, and personally I've always found it's related to deodorant, though stopping using deodorant may not make it better immediately, I haven't had any problem since I stopped using aerosols.

Thanks for the advice, some of it useful!

I'm wondering if it's related in any way to the burning mouth syndrome that a friend of mine suffers. Nobody knows what causes that and there isn't really any treatment.

It has built up slowly over the last few months to the point where it began to irritate me. I have been using the same deodorant for quite a few years (roll-on, unperfumed) so I wonder if it's that. The anti-yeast/fungus shampoo doesn't seem to be improving things.

That happened to me several years ago. I started using another brand and it cleared up in a couple of weeks.
