just was cleaning up my flat and washing my floor, scooting around my bike coz i can't be arsed to move it  and i noticed a bulge in my tyre. its one of those black tyres with the red down each side so it looked like the middle was out of line which made me notice it.

so as i can't be bothered to take it apart right now at 12 pm, i've just let the air out. the tyre seems to have gone back straight but what are your first thoughts?

Inner tube gone weak and wonky inside

or

Tyre gone wonky and weakened?

what i wanna know is (and i suppose i won't find out until i take it apart but just wondered what you thought) is this gonna cost me a new tyre?? never had a bulge/twist before.

I've had it happen before on a Fortezza Tricomp. I think it's the threads of the carcass under the rubber unravelling meaning the tyre can't hold its shape. Mine happened after hitting a rather nasty pothole. You might be wise to get a new one.

^^^ what they say - you may get away with putting something on the inside like a piece of plastic from toothpast tube or milk carton but the tyre will need replacing as it could let go very likely with the inner tube bursting giving you no warning that you have less air in the tyre.
