Just been trying to get rid of a few pounds on my better half's mtb, it came with fairly cheapy Suntour forks, her only off road riding doesn't really need any suspension so I bought some Nukeproof rigid carbon forks, I tried to weigh the new and old forks on the kitchen scales, Nukeproofs are about 800g, can't weigh the suntour ones as the scales only go to 2kg, however with new bars and stem I think the weights down by atleast 2kg, and I've fitted some semi slick contis that will take 80psi, hopefully she'll notice the difference, just have to hope I don't get dropped on the climbs now.

Oh, I'll have you know that the Orange Five isn't as heavy as it looks, that doesn't mean it's light though, and the rider isn't as light as he was when he really cared about the weight of his bike, however it is disturbing that the Orange was lighter than my better half's hardtail before the weight loss programme started.
