We have acquired through Freecycle a BSO for our eldest child, but it is in need of some maintenance to make it ridable.
The BSO is a British Eagle Bolero with gear system by an outfit called Power.
The problem that I am trying to address to start off with is the gear change on the rear DR. It is fine when you want to move up a gear (let out cable) but the change down is more than I can do, let alone a 9yo. The problem appears to be caused by a combination of the angle that the cable comes out if the last stop and the strength of the spring within the parralellagram.
Any help/advise would be appreciated.
