Serious question, any of the fellas on here ever bruised their oldman? Blimey does that hurt. I want to ride in to work on Monday but I'm ...a little concerned. LOL! How have you got around it, extra padding? Different saddle or bike or seat position?

If not I'll take the bus.

Have been kicked there before and it's had the same effect. Wasn't cycling then but I think I'd stay off for a while, let things heal up for a few days and then get back in the saddle. The last thing you want is lasting damage down there!

Hey Doc....

Can you take away the pain, but keep the swelling?

I am crossing my legs just thinking about it... Take the bus, you will know when it is safe to get back on the bike, but do keep an eye on things, and seek advice if anything seems untoward

Missing the bike dreadfully on the bus today... So much easier than buses (they seem to have cut half the services since the last time I travelled on them). I need a recumbent trike I reckon!

EDIT:My old workmate's husband got stung by a bee and said the very same to the nurse at Soton Gen.

Have taken a serious kick to that area but it was twins that were hurt not the old fella.

Don't have the parts, but all bruised/swollen parts benefit from having a coolbrick placed on them - the freezer things that go in picnic bags.
You can get them in different sizes, and the wine bottle ones are flexible 'wrap' type things
I used one on my elbow last month, as solid bricks aren't so good in an awkward area.

Wrap the brick in a thin cloth like a teatowel first, don't apply directly to the skin.

Ice and compression aid the healing process.
