Can't believe how chilly it was this morning. Mind you I did set off just after 6am. Managed my longest ride so far of just over 18 miles.......a mere warm up to many on here but I was quite pleased

Here's the route if anyone is interested. A nice undulating loop around beautiful Perthshire.

Yes, very slow I know but I am really struggling to get my average speed up. I suppose it will come in time if I persevere.

If anyone has any recommendations for nice cosy gloves I would be grateful. I could hardly feel my fingers for the first part of the ride until the sun came up a bit and it got slightly warmer. Tootsies a bit cold too as I ride in trainers and the wind whistles through them. Can you put overshoes over trainers?

5c according to the car (I was dropping my kids and my parents off at the station for a trip on a steam train) - I did drive home, then got the bike out. I was only 3 miles from work when I turned back to drop the car off at home ! (Crazy cyclist).

Was nippy.

i have fingerless for summer, light xc mtb ones for now (ish) (thin full fingered gloves) and some sealskins for the snow/ice! i need some inbetween the xc and the sealskins though.

Was only 7.5c at Airth (forth estuary) this morning, definitely a 5c change from yesterday morning, autumn has arrived!

6°C this morning, and riding though a wind blown mist that crossed my path reminded me that it will only get colder. And I needed my lights when I left the house 05:55hrs.

You are not far from this - a nice leasurely ride round the Forth bridges. As for the cold, I wear Aldi winter gloves and overshoes, sometimes even in summer! I don't see why overshoes wouldn't fit over trainers, they are pretty universal. Regards, Mark
