I've got a B17, which is super comfy and a couple of years old now, and have recently got a Swift for my 1982 Raleigh Competition.
It is not broken in yet, but even in its rock hard out of the box condition it felt pretty good. It is harder than the B17 and narrower, better for hard riding I guess. Get the matching handlebar tape if you can, leather is so much nicer for bar tape than synthetic alternatives (just remember to wax it like your saddle).

I got a Swift second-hand on a bike I purchased on e-bay. Think it must have had way too much Proofhide because it was dead soft & saggy. Tightened up it has been fantastic. Best saddle I have ever ridden.

Bought a swift thought I would hate it out of the box as is hard as hell though leather thickness is less than B17. Fitted to new road bike and found flexes in use and is supremely comfortable, looks like the dogs gonads and love it to bits. Search around should be able to get for £80 or so and will last a lifetime if looked after. Otherwise have a look at second hand as bargains to be had. Using a Pro that is at least 15 years old and is like riding on a magic carpet.

"like riding on a magic carpet."
Nice description, send it to brooks.

I dont think that they are expensive considering how long they last, in comparison with a set wheels for example.
And I really like to support UK manufacturing.
