Brompton alternative is there a worthy contender?

I took a test ride on an electric Brompton. Being vertically challenged this is the ideal bike for me. It's the limit of the height for me to get on and off. That said the cost is hefty. Don't get me wrong it does have a cult following and the whole package from research to build etc. is impressive. But, before I part with my cash and forever question my sanity, I want to get advice from you all. Is there another bike I might have overlooked which folds as small, is electric and no heavier?

I can't think of anything that folds as small as a Brompton.
I've got a Swytch kit on order for mine...

Eovolt Bikes

Have a look at the Eovolt 16" Morning. Its weight and foldability is close to a Brompton, I know someone with the 20" Afternoon which is heavier than a Brompton but was bought to be a holiday bike rather than a luggable commuter bike.

Hi Thank you. I have seen some people add the Swytch to their bikes. I didn't know if it works as well as the one fitted by Brompton though. Is it cheaper to buy a standard Brompton and add a Swytch than buying an electric?

Thank you for your reply. I will take a look 👀 I will be lugging it a bit so the weight is a sticky point. Definitely will consider it though. 😊

It is for me because I've already got a Brompton!
Let's see - Brompton C line £1520, C line electric £3150.
A Swytch kit is costing me £559 and a few hours to fit it.

Let us know how it handles ? The justification for the Skarper is that front wheel conversions are a bit skittish so theirs is rear wheel, its nearly twice the price though and I think youve got to have disk brakes :-/

I will, but I'm not expecting the kit till next summer!
My touring bike has a Swytch kit, and that handles perfectly well despite being front wheel drive.
I rode it through Wales in August, and it worked very well.
Including a 6 mile, 50mph descent into Machynlleth.

Edit - I'm not on commission or anything, it's just a product that works well for me.
