feel sorry for me folks:sad:
Got knocked into a ditch last week, by a club mate who lost control whilst sprinting for a 30 sign.. result 2 popped ribs, big gash in my leg and bruised ankles.. the bike was fine, you can't bust a Van Nic:biggrin:

The van has failed the MOT on various stuff all trivial apart from the emissions,,grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I have managed to cajole the injector pump down a bit but there is evidence of oil being burnt... I don't fancy getting the engine out and swapped whilst suffering from broken bones..

So I am a bit cheesed off at the moment.

give the van a dose of redex and a heavy right foot for a bit....might help.

sorry, best I could do:biggrin:

Yeh , already Forte'd the fuel , didn't sort it out, I have turned the diesel injector pump as far down as I can without it losing all power and it is almost right, I might take it to the MOT place and get them to check the emissions before doing the test.... there is a bit of gas getting past the piston rings though:wacko: new rings.... oh well... the rest of the van looks a bit shoddy but is actually quite sound, lots of dents but almost zero rust:smile:

Isn't 'failure due to emissions' just one of the garage's armoury of money making cons.
Don't you just ask 'is there anything you can do about it?'
They say yes , charge you some money (however much they feel like) , and hey-ho you pass the retest.

I love my little blue kangoo of doom.........I'd be gutted if that failed.

is it a turbo diesel? if it isn't, you can try a dose of veg oil through it.....that cleans the engine a treat...........honest:laugh:

don't hold me responsible tho:wacko:..I put some through mine regularly when the temperature is a bit warmer..........the kangoo loves it, and you can hear him purring!!

Na, my van was smoking in an embarrassing way:biggrin: and my MOT garage is pretty good at not ripping people off...bless em:smile:

To coax a diesel engine through an emissions test, add a little petrol to the diesel tank. Make sure the tank is maybe about 1/3 full, add about a gallon of petrol, drive it for about 10-15 miles to make sure it reaches the engine and is nicely mixed, go for the emission test and fill with diesel afterwards. That's what everybody does around here and it always works. I've done it many times on my old VW without problems.

And Eric wonders why I never turn up on club runs ! ;-)

To be fair he is normally a sensible rider and doesn't cause much chaos... he is usually hanging on your wheel like a limpet waiting his moment to take the line:biggrin:

There are far more wobbly riders in the Sevale... eh Jim;)
