Broken pannier bosses

Hi all,

Tricross 2012, my pannier bosses on the seatstays have both broken. Right hand one has split so I now just have a not-very pretty hole in my frame (and half a boss inside my frame, the other half on my floor).... other side one is still together but wobbling about.

Is this repairable by a good bike shop?

I'd have thought so - I believe they fit like a rivnut.​

No idea how you'll get the half-a-boss out from inside the frame, mind...

Yeah I reckon so. You may be able to rattle the broken boss out too. Try taking wheels, etc off to make it lighter to shake!

The wobbly one may well be alble to be recrimped to save removing. Kust remember you don't need to go nuts when tightening pannier bolts other wise the bosses can break ;-)
