OK - totally mad question but I am curious and need to know because I think it is going to affect the way I repair the wheel....
How do you break a nipple? Not the spoke but the nipple.... spoke is intact and I assume safe to re-use?
Is it likely to just be wear & tear, a faulty nipple or something more like a faulty batch...
Just wondering out loud because I now need to replace it (don't know yet if my spares will work with it - not sure if they are the same size etc) and then re-true the wheel...
The bit sticking out of the end is the spoke.
