I'm a little concerned about my bike.
I was riding along when I heard a loud cracking sound.
Since then it sounds like there is some vibration coming from the rear wheel.
I checked the cassette teeth but they all seem to be intact. The chainset teeth are fine. The bottom bracket is fine with no play. The jockey wheels seem fine. I can't even feel any play in the cassette.......yet this sound is still apparent since the initial cracking sound.
It might not be component fault.....perhaps a loose freehub....?????
Im not too pleased.....I just spend loads on my new bike.......now I've got to contact the shop tomorrow to get it back in. I hope they dont charge me....seeing as I've had it for only 8 days!

I assume you bought it new, in which case it will still be under warranty so they will have to fix it free of charge.

Yep, I bought it new.
I checked again this morning.
When the bike is freewheeled backwards you can definately hear it's not right.
If they need to fit a new freehub I hope they have it in stock.
Failing that it's cycling on the MTB for the weekend.

I took the bike in this morning.
All was fine. The tech guy who built my bike put the cracking sound down to the rear mech being slightly out fo adjustment. He checked the lockring and axle...all fine....all gears realigned and tested ok.
Pain in the ar*e having to drive there an back...but glad the bike is ok.
