I've been trying to plot a route between Bristol and BoA, using the sustrans national routes (including the bri2bat & two tunnels)
They go along these paths/routes:

From what I've seen on Google Maps street view, there's a couple of stretches that aren't on smooth roads, but on gravel paths (particularly around Monkton Comb & on the north side of the canal into BoA.
Has anyone ridden these routes & would they say those gravel sections are suitable for a road bike, or would I be better off planning to go around them on roads (say freshford and avoncliff).
