Ok so ive just got myself a new bike.
Ill have it with me in about two weeks when i go home and collect it when my university deadlines are over and done with.
I've been in brighton for a year and half and havent seen much other than the city centre, the beach and a mile or two either side of the piers.

Wheres best to go? nice rides, countryside, beaches, little towns, all sorts. ill be by myself so i need as much entertainment throughout the ride as i can possibly get. All advice, opinions and suggestions welcome.

many thanks tom

ps. the bike i have can only tackle roads.

The best route out, then, is straight up Ditchling Road to the crossroads at the top of Coldean Lane (known locally as Old Boat Corner).Turn left and immediately right which will take you to Ditchling Beacon after about 2.5 miles. After descending the Beacon you have a plethora of small lanes, leading to some lovely villages such as
Hurstpierpoint, Ditchling, Horsted Keynes, etc.
As BTFB says, there is a nice 35 mile route which includes Poynings, Fulking and finishes coming back along the seafront from Shoreham. I'll PM you more details if you like.
