Brian Robinson hit by a car, Dewsbury

Brian Robinson, of TDF fame [video interview], and a member of my cycle club, was hit by a car this afternoon.

Not good news, I only had coffee with him earlier on our Wednesday ride.

Don't know him personally, but I know his reputation as one of the best cyclists this country has produced and have experienced a very similar encounter with a car and similar results, so know how he must be feeling.

I wish him all the best and a speedy recovery.

An update; Brian's got 6 broken ribs, punctured lung, broken collarbone and cuts/brusing.

Despite that he's apparently "'chipper' & eager to get back on his bike".

Chris, one of my collegues, who's recently re-joined 'Ravensthorpe' was out with you on the Wednesday ride, prior to it happening though

He told me this morning, that he'd spoken to Brian, during his stay 'with us', but that he went home yesterday (he'd not had chance to go up to the Ward to check though)

Thanks @Richard A Thackeray - Chris is clearly a good rider. Given it's one of his first times out with his new (again) club, if not the first, he seemed to spend an awful lot of time on the front of the bunch!

Yes he is, but sadly, an unlucky one at times!

He was with 'us' (Featherstone RC), but decided that you were more suited to him

(I don't ride, as such with them. mainly keep the membership paid-up out of 'tradition')
