Hi All,

This is really bugging me lately im quite confused as I have only started to experience it recently.

If I am out the saddle and push fairly hard on the left pedal from the top of the stroke down I can hear the rim brush the right side brake pad momentarily.

I know the wheel is flexing its a Mavic cxp22 and is not the stiffest in the world but why would this only just start to occur. I have checked the bearings although I cant do much as they are of the cartridge variety although look fine and no play is present.

I have also increased the tension on the non drive side spokes by a quarter turn and the wheel is true and although this has helped a little it is still there.

I dont like loads of slack on the brakes and have been flipping the brakes QR open before climbing but this is not ideal.

Im just concerned something is wrong no matter how hard I try I cant get any rub when pushing hard on the right pedal ??.

Any help much appreciated

If you've had the wheel out check the wheel is aligned in the dropouts correctly, a fraction of a mm out at the hub is a lot more at the rim. If that's no good centre the brake calipers.

My rims touch the brakes when cornering, I have 16 front spokes and 20 rear.

Hi yes I've checked the calipers and re centred them but still no joy.

I've removed the wheel and put it back I hope it centred but don't really know how to do this properly
