I did my first seriously wet ride last night & my stock pads were almost useless. They were bad enough in the dry.

Recommend me a pair!

Clarks triple compound work for me think about £8 per set - holder, spare pads as well, £16 for both end and two sets of spare pads, winner

I tried those Clarks ones mentioned above and they went straight in the bin. Both RHS shoes had a casting defect which meant that the ball joint always defaulted to the same position when tightened.. which was about 10 degree from parallel to the rim.

I'm now using Aztec Road Plus pads/shoes which are a similar price (on the link) and in terms of quality are streets ahead of the Clarks, and perform far better than the standard Shimano I had before one.

koolstops for me , but be warned what ever you pads you are using if the rim is steel rather than alloy and they are wet forget it

chromed steel rim + rain = loud squealing noise and no stopping power,
which makes the noise come in handy to warn unsuspecting peds on the crossing you are trying to stop for to get out of the way before you crash into them! much louder than the bell!
