I'm going crazy. I've been worked on this bike non stop for around eight hours now and this is driving me mad.

I have to leave for a five mile commute to school in 2 hours and I only have one hour to get this fixed.

The right brake pad is rubbing against the rim. I've adjusted everything, greased everything and I've even taken the whole thing off and put it back on again. I can't figure out what's wrong.

Either one or both of the V-brake arms will have a small adjusting grub screw. Tighten to push that arm away or loosen to get it closer, to the rim. Do not loosen too far - it may fall out!

Hi, thanks for the replies. I've tried to fix this with no luck. I've greased it, tightened the screws and done lots more with no luck. One of the arms is always rubbing against the wheel and the other one is always quite a bit away from it.

I had the exact same problem recently. Like you I put a post on here because I just couldnt understand why one post insisted on rubbing the rim despite no end of adjusting and checking wheel etc.
In the end I completely stripped the cable and checked inner and outer, lubed then refitted. Fingers crossed its been ok since and still dont know what caused the problem.
