with the weather going south i've just realised how shockingly bad my brakes are, in wet weather.

think they're best changed before i break a leg!

can i ask what road brake inserts might be good please, for alloy rims?

What holders do you have? I like Revolution Advanced Road but I think they only fit in their holders. Shimano's offering for their 105 holders don't seem very good (pads too hard, pick up junk). Koolstop Salmon seem to get a lot of praise but I've not yet tried them.

I use clarke's but i clean the rims and give the inserts a rub with sandpaper every week during the winter

SwissStop Green or Blue. Amazing performance and keep your rim wear to a minimum too.
