Brake Hoods..

Anyone else think they are ridiculously over priced for what they are? RRP £22 at CRC, for a bit of moulded rubber? I could get 3 light sets for that from China, or a new tire!

What surprised me more was the lack of cheap Chinese copies on eBay. If anyone knows where I could get some non-aero brake hoods fairly cheap, I'd love to know.

Your right,but theres not a lot of call for them so that probably affects the price.
What you need is an old style bike shop with dusty boxes of stuff under the counter or a cycle jumble sale.

If you mean the old type where the cables enter from the top I have a couple of unused ones I bought and never used and as I am selling my road bike they are going spare. Yours for postage. They are the yellowy browny ones, like the gum wall tyres.

They are deep in the bowels of my shed so I will need to search through the boxes which I will do later today. I think I know where they are! Sounds great, thanks very much. Re cable stops - I only have the plastic original ones, which are 30 years old and a bit worse for wear (cracking plastic) - If you are offering those also, that would be really helpful.
