Any tips on adjusting the front Planet X brake - I can't seem to get it to return to centre properly or get the gapping right between rim & pad.

Didn't have this problem with my SRAM Force brakes.

The tip's don't seem to be working for me!

Tips on fitting the calipers:Mount the brake as centrally as possible using the main frame securing allen bolt.
The small allen key screw located in the central barrel which secures down on to the central pivot bolt is to assist in centring the caliper arms once the main securing bolt has been tightened.
There's also a small allen key grub screw on one of the caliper arms which tightens on to the main spring. Once the caliper has been centred using the main mounting bolt, the small allen grub screw can be used to 'fine-tune' the adjustment. By tightening it up, the tension on the spring will be increased and that caliper arm will move away from the rim. Loosen it off and the tension is released and the caliper arm will move towards the rim. It's very clever and kept some of us amused for hours.

The brakes are excellent when correctly fitted, but it was a right bugger to get mine adjusted properly. The trick seems to be to make sure the caliper is central and that the main securing bolt (accessed from the rear of the fork) is tight - you may well need a thin spanner on the front nut to get it tight.

You can then (as they say above) fine tune the position with the front allen bolt. If you try this without first tightening the securing bolt then the whole thing just swings and wont re-centre.

Oh - and make sure there's enough adjustment on the barrel adjuster to allow for a further tweak when the pads wear - The ones that came fitted to my bike from Planet X were fully in so no further tightening was possible.
