Brake caliper spacers

I'm fitting some Tektro calipers to a road bike frame. The calipers each came with 2 serrated spacers. Do I need to fit both of these? It looks as though the calipers will clear the frame/forks without, but I guess at least one is needed as the serrations must have a function to stop stuff moving.

It looks like a big gap with both spacers fitted, but maybe this is correct.

Thank you

Use the one if you can. They are there for varying frame/fork mounting point thicknesses.

Thats why you use one to stop it rotating. No need to use any more unless the brake bridge is narrow. Put the spare in the spares jar as you never know, you might find another use, well thats my excuse.
