I have just bought the Magicshine MJ 816 and I am looking for a bracket mount that is compatible with this light. I see loads of reference to an Electron EHP 300 single bar or double bar bracket.

I can't seem to find ANY dealer with these so I am asking for help to find an alternative.

Anybody got the MJ 816 and has a bracket they could recommend.

Even better if someone could donate the Electron bracket to a worthy cause

Hey Gaz,

I trawled my tool box and found an old reflector unit and bolt that fitted. It is much better than the O ring setup but it is not 100%. I'll need to keep my eyes peeled on CRC for the Electron bracket coming back.

Back to the O ring set up this morning, just not sure about the modified version I made last night, probably will do more damage to the thread for the bolt than good.

Thinking caps on again.

i've just ordered an mj-818 rear light and and was wondering if Gaz could give me some more info on how to change the mount. i have a mount that i had on an old cateye light that is the same as a reflecter mount but a bit more sturdy. would i have to take the light apart to change the mount or is it just a case of unscrewing and fitting new bracket with a longer screw. TIA

I have some 3 year old electron lights which are great apart from a dodgy connector. However I got fed up taking them off and putting them back on when I got to work. So I invested in a Topeak extender bar, leave the lights attached to that permanently, and just put on/take off the bar with one allen key. That works for me, then you can bodge your mounting mechanism as much as you like, if you aren't having to fiddle with it daily.

Got this email from Electron about that bracket:

"We have sold out of these as a spare and they are discontinued and we can't get anymore."

The top peak extender sounds good, and I'd rather spend £15 on that than a single bracket!

I've been looking for an Electron bracket too, but have just ordered one of these to see if I can adapt it to make it work. It seems like the only bracket with a plain swivel on it, I'm hoping to unbolt the top part and have something I can graft the MJ-808 to. I'm yet to receive my Magicshine, I bought it on the back of a ride with a mate who had one, I couldn't see any light from my Hope Vision 1 on the road when cycling next to him!

I quite like the look of this bracket to keep the light centrally located on the bike - I'm a bit of a neat freak and don't like the unsymmetrical look of having a light one side of the bars! Not sure how it'll work with drops and a 120mm stem though.
