Hey all,

Just got the bike on Monday. But not had a chance to inspect it. I had to take my son's bike in for repair first! Brakes gone already! Now for a silly question...: Does the Brompton need to get build or is it folded up? I should just open it and see shouldn't I?

Mine arrived unboxed, but I don't think you need to build anything.

Just keep an eye on the thing that need to be checked/tightened after a week or so of riding (cables and things) - your manual should have details in [if there's no manual, download from Brompton's website].

Yes.....What should happen is that the machine gets a once over and check before being folded and boxed - so should be ridable

No......It depends on the bike, I would always check the rudiments such as tyres, cables, brakes etc and give the bike a thorough once over before riding

Where did you buy your Brompton? Because any decent LBS would have shown you how it folds/unfolds. I would not have left the shop without knowing how to put it up and then fold it. But that's just me.

It is quite easy takes about 6 seconds or less to fold/unfold.
