My favourite groupset has always been the 6400 series Shimano 600 Ultegra "tricolor" groupset.
I've got some odd parts including a set of brake levers that are in my parts bin so when facebook Marketplace suggested I might be interested in a groupset that had everything except brake levers- hell yes!

There's some components not shown in the photos, including the other brake, chain rings, bottom bracket and the brake levers.
For a groupset over 30 years old they're in amazing condition, and I can't wait to fit them to a nice frame I have waiting for a rebuild.

This is the frame they'll go on to along with a nice set of Mavic Open 4 CD wheels on Tricolor hubs.
Can't wait

Very nice. I have a Mix of the Tricolour and the older Shimano 600. Older cranks, brake callipers, but newer brake levers and Mech. Also got the newer no groupset Shimano standard 8 speed down tube shifters as my 600 was 6 or 7 speed (adjustable).

I had a full 600 groupset like this on a Ron Cooper frame, which turned out to be too small for me. I had the single-pivot brakes, though - the best bicycle brakes ever made. They stay centred because they have ball bearings in the middle, they're lighter than dual pivots, they track any runout in the rim, and they give very good feel.

I still have one of these brakes on my Jim Bundy track bike.

I have just restored a Swiss built Cilo with tricolour 600. This has Sti shifters on it which are in almost unused condition. Which is lucky as hood rubbers are almost impossible to source. The shifting is super smooth and it is a delight to use. Shame it is just slightly too big for my wife.
