Bought a scratchcard the other day

Don't know why I did.

Was in a shop and just thought I would.

Anyway. Was in my coat pocket for a few days and just found it there.

It was £2 and it was one with 3 different games and a top prize of £250,000

The first panel was you had to find a diamond symbol and you won the amount next to it

The second if you found a gold bar symbol you won that amount and the third you had 6 different amounts and if 3 matched you won that amount.

Scratch the first panel 2 diamond symbols. £3 and £4
Scratch the middle one low and behold a gold bar worth £25
Scratch the 3 panel and 3 £18 pound symbols.

£50 to me!

Also won a raffle the other night as well. Won six kick boxing classes initially but as it was down in Harrogate my friend picked another prize and I won a bubble bath set.

Cheers. Think Mrs G will be using the Bubble Bath. Couldn't tell you the last time I had a bath. Showers rule!!

I thought that scratchcards were a bit of a con. The £50 in my pocket would suggest otherwise.

I once witnessed two blokes spend thier entire fortnight's dole on scratchcards. Didn't win enough to stay in the pub for the night!

I can only recall buying 1 scratch card in my life. I got £8 from it so went straight back into the shop and got 8 more cards with my "winnings" and scratched the lot and had £4. Got 4 more cards and got £2 so got 2 more cards and got nothing. I decided they were a waste of time after that....

Anybody else won anything?

A couple of years ago my wife won an all expenses paid weekend for two at Gleneagles. We don't gamble, she only bought the raffle ticket as it was for charity ;0)

I went through a phase of buying them every day for a few weeks in sixth form I broke even pretty much! Spent about £30 on £1 scratch cards and won the same back
