Nice one Dave

If you havent ridden a roadbike before be prepared for it not feeling great at first, once you get used to the different position you will love it.

Thanks for that. I am sure I will have lots of questions to ask once it arrives. It should come towards the end of next week (I can't pay for it until Monday ) Decided to go for a road rather than tourer after reading how easy it is to fit pclips and the like to a bike without bosses. Feel I get the best of both worlds that way. Hope I'm right.

Only downside to that is you can't run full length mudguards as race frames use short drop brake units. Just get the crud mudguards for road bikes, then it is the best of both worlds.

I didn't even consider mud guards. I have a rear mudguard and a bottom tube crud guard on my MTB but I still get filthy. I guess dirty water will be the biggest issue on the roads?

So the p clips are for a rack? You might have troubles with clearencess.

If you mind getting dirty and having a dirty bike. Then don't bother with mudguards.

I've never bothered with guards on my road bike. They may have kept me a bit drier/clean in the winter, but my attitude is that if it's raining I'm gonna get wet whatever. As for salt, just more vigilence in cleaning the bike in winter. Plus, being a bit of a tart, I say don't ruin a road bike with stuff like racks and guards:smile:

P.s. enjoy the bike, I found the switch to a road bike a positive one and haven't looked back.
