Against most advice I received, I did it anyway! I'm really happy with how it looks and performs.

I am currently using my 11 speed compatible wheels and all is fine. I still need to sort something out for when I use my 10 speed winter wheels.

Other than having some slight serrations, is there any significant difference between the sprockets that go on the 1st (lowest) and 2nd positions? The reason for asking is that I fitted the cassette to the 10 speed wheels with a spacer behind and left off the smallest sprocket. I had a 12t lock ring lying around and was able to fit this to the required torque and the cassette appeared to fit well. Is there any harm in running it like this? I popped the wheel on the bike, and other than having to adjust the limit screws it seemed to work perfectly.

Many thanks

Dave

Assuming you've managed to secure the lock ring properly, then I see no reason why this wouldn't work. The limit screws will prevent the derailleur from moving around, you'll just have a useless extra click on the shifters.
